Some of the questions I often get asked

Are you CRB-checked?
Absolutely. I have a clear, enhanced CRB check, most recently updated in September 2012.
Do you do home visits?
Unfortunately, time pressures mean I can't offer home visits.
Can I sit in on classes?
You're very welcome to sit in and either observe or entertain yourself while the student you're in charge of is in class, as long as they're happy and you're reasonably quiet.
Do you teach in a school?
No. Seeing what my teacher friends go through, school-teaching is quite definitely not for me. I tutor full-time, which means I can concentrate on one student at a time and respond to his or her difficulties directly.
Can you help with 11+/primary school/middle school maths?
I'm afraid not. I've worked with some younger students, but I find I have better results with more mature students.
Do you teach the [x] exam board/module [y]/course [z]?
More likely than not! Even if I haven't taught a particular part of a course before, I'm always happy to look into it and get myself up to speed.
What do you drink?
I hummed and hawed about answering this one because it looks like I'm angling for presents. Maybe I am! Well... what it comes down to is, I don't drink - but every year I end up with several bottles of wine from well-intentioned, thoughtful students, and I'm very grateful for the thought. If you do feel the need to get me something, Amazon tokens or gift vouchers always go down well.

Where do you teach?

I teach in my home in Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth.

It's a 15-minute walk from Weymouth station, and it's on bus routes 3, 8 and X53. On-road parking is available nearby.
